COVER LETTER

I’m a creative graphic design graduate looking for a full time job in industry. During my degree and freelance work i’ve developed a range of skills, fully functioning in illustrator, photoshop and indesign as well as working on creative problem solving. The freelance work improved on my ability to adapt to client needs and to create work fit for different media. 

During my degree i specialised in print design, advertising and social media promotion. Creating campaigns for a wide range of clients as well as for set briefs. The outcomes i created range from  editorial book design to interactive snapchat packaging.

Throughout my degree i created work of a high standard to set deadlines together with participating in group projects successfully. Also completed 3 weeks work experince with a design company in Leeds, but as i moved back to manchester after graduation could not take this further. 

For the last year i’ve worked in the hospitality industry alongside free lance work, this was improve my self confidence and my communication skills, whilst also to support my freelance work. In this job i have progressed my way up to a supervisory position. I’ve current a supervisor, working towards assistant manager meaning i have a lot of responsibility. This included lone running shifts, dealing with customer complaints, counting tills and the safe, locking up, along with managing other people and problem solving. This demonstrates my managerial skills, hard working attitude and truth-worthy nature. Over the last year this job has allowed me to work on my self confidence, along with gathering a inside knowledge with how to work with the general public, improving my skills as a ‘people person’.  

After only working freelance part time for the last year i have now decided to focus more on my career in graphic design. My aim is to work with a company to enhance professional skills. Due to this I’m looking to gain as much on the job first hand experince as possible, whilst being a valuable asset to your company. I can aid with live briefs, work on set deadlines and add fresh ideas to work.
